RFPs Issued for North Island Hospitals Business Case Consultants

NORTH VANCOUVER ISLAND – New state-of-the-art hospitals for Campbell River and for the Comox Valley are one step closer to becoming a reality with the issuing of a number of Request For Proposals (RFPs) seeking expert consultants for the development of a comprehensive business case for the North Island Hospitals Project.

The RFPs seek a variety of consultants ranging from architectural, civil engineering, electrical engineering, geotechnical and mechanical services, to IMIT, health economist and operations simulation services.

The documents are posted on the BCBID website, www.bcbid.ca  and on the Partnerships BC website, www.partnershipsbc.ca.  Deadline for submissions is December 1, 2010 at 2 p.m.

The North Island Hospitals Project proposes a new 150-160 bed Comox Valley Hospital and a new 90-95 bed Campbell River Hospital. The business case is being overseen by a Project Board and involves the development of a functional program and an indicative design for both hospitals that includes enough detail to more accurately assess the required capital investment. Project Board review and support of the completed business case is required before it can be submitted to the Provincial Government for funding approval.
